Manage Your Time Well

People who respect time are the ones that get respect from others. Time is a limited resource—the richest person and the poorest person have the same amount of time to spend. You should understand this. The people who are successful are those who have managed their time well. Learn how to prioritize things and how to allocate the right amount of time for every task that you need to accomplish.



Always ‘Be There’ for People

You have to always be there for people around you. Help them in their times of difficulty. Even if you cannot help them materially, give them your personal support, some words of reassurance, whatever you can. And when you help people, don’t do it with a selfish intent. You will get reciprocation surely, but you shouldn’t do a good deed thinking about rewards.

Be Passionate about the Right Things

Treat life like a learning process. There is so much that life teaches you, and you have to make sure that you learn all these lessons along the way. Self Talk - Your Way to Success

There are many things that drive people to success, and a key factor is what is known as "internal dialogue". This is the dialogue that is constantly playing inside your head. It’s the voice that starts talking as soon as you do something, meet someone, or think about anything.

In many cases, this voice can be destructive and knock you down, though it is possible to quite easily harness his internal dialogue and use it to propel you to the success you desire and deserve.

You may notice that on occasion the voice is negative in what it says. For example, you see something you really want to buy and it says, "You can’t afford that." Or you see someone you are really attracted to and the voice says, "They’re way out of your league, they’ll never go for someone like you."

Quite obviously, this does nothing to make you life any better. Therefore, why not change the content of the voice? When it says something negative, counter it with a positive suggestion. For example, when the voice says, “You can’t afford that.” Respond mentally in a firm and positive voice with something like, “How can I afford it?” A question that empowers you and propels you into positive action.

This may take some time, and you may notice initially you do not always catch the voice and correct it. However, keep it up and before you know it, you will have changed the negative dialogue into a positive, empowering one.

You can also change the tone of the voice. What would happen if instead of the usual tone of voice saying, “I can’t afford it” you hear the voice of Homer Simpson, or Donald Duck, or any comic character saying it? You certainly wouldn’t listen to the voice and take it seriously, you would laugh at it and it’s power over you would be broken.

This technique can be extended to helping you motivate yourself to do something. When faced with the washing up, what do you hear in your head? Do you hear a whiney voice saying something like, “You really ought to do the washing up or you’ll get into trouble” or a commanding and scary voice saying, “Wash up NOW!”?

What would happen if the voice were a soft and really seductive voice speaking in your head? The sort of voice that gives you shivers down your back. What if it said something like, “Let’s do the washing up big boy.”? How would that motivate you?

Stephen King, the author, uses this technique with his writing. When he has to write he hears this very loud and powerful voice shouting at him as if through a megaphone saying something like, “WRITE NOW!!!!!” It almost scares him in to writing.

However, you don’t need to scare yourself into action. You can change your internal dialogue to be anything you want; whatever works best for you to motivate you and help you to get where you want to be.

Listen to your internal dialogue and play with changing the tonality, volume and tempo to find the type of voice that works best for you. Create a number of different types of voices, one for motivation, one to stop you doing things, one to make you feel loved, one to make you feel happy and so on.


Mastering your internal dialogue is a major key in mastering your life!

Vital Tips in Finding Your Passion

Some people take a lifetime in realizing what they really want to do and where they want to take their journey. It will be best if you will know the essentials in finding your passion while you are still young. This way, you will have lots of time to fulfill whatever you want to achieve and enjoy its effects and benefits as well.


It is not that easy to know what you really want to do for the rest of your life. There are people who end up pursuing a very unlikely route while giving in to what they really want to achieve whenever they have time for it. The reason for such varies. For some, they want to pursue their passion only after they have gone through several failures.



To help you in this regard, here are some tips that you can follow.

1. You should look at things around you. Determine what or who inspire you to achieve whatever goals that you have in mind. They can be your loved ones or a specific person that encourages you to be better. These can also be things. What are the objects that create some sparks and enhance you to move forward? Use these objects and people in order to find out for yourself what you really want to happen. You can list down the things and people or places that may come to your mind when you are thinking about this so that you will keep track of what really matters to you.

2. Think about happy thoughts. Reminisce about the times when you were most happy in your life. What brought about such happiness? What made you happy? And while you are at it, you should also think about when was the last time when you experienced such moment. If it has already been a long time, what do you think caused such state?

3. You have to go back to the things that ignited your passion in the past. Read your favorite book. This may be a great time to find console digging through self-help books. This is especially true if you cannot talk to anyone close to you regarding the matter in ways that you hope to be understood.

4. If you are stuck in a job that you detest and your only reason why you are doing that is for money, then you will have a harder time in getting to know where your real passion lies. You may want to look back at the point before you entered this job. What were you back then or what were you thinking to achieve at that point? If you have already saved enough, you may want to consider quitting your current job. This way, you can allot more time in pursuing the things that you really want before it is already too late.

5. You have to be open to whatever possibilities life may bring. You need to expect more than what you already have for you to acquire such and reach a level beyond your comfort zone. This can be done by being bold enough to take a risk at a time. It doesn't matter how small or how big it is. Once you start following your heart and mind to reach to the point where you think you will be happy and satisfied, you are on the right track. And finding your passion will be easier in the long run.

Getting Rid of Fear

Fear is your enemy – no other way to describe it.  I’m not talking about that natural life preserving action along with a major boost of adrenalin that happens if a wild animal is coming at you.  I’m talking about the fears people live with day in and day out. 

Fear is your enemy.  Someone once described fear as, “Sand in the machinery of life.”  Fear doesn’t help you, it hinders you.  Fear doesn’t get you through an open door; it keeps you in the hallway. Fear never helps you put your best foot forward; it just keeps both of your feet in cement.

The psychology of today is, “Learn to live with your fears”, “Embrace your fears”, “It’s normal to have fears – everybody does.”  

It’s true; lots of people do have fears. And there are people who are trying to learn how to live with their fears, and embrace them.

But if it’s “normal” to have fears, then why would the Bible talk about being delivered from all your fears?


Think about it - if it’s normal to have fears, and you had no fears, then you would be abnormal, right? Well why would God want you to be abnormal?

He doesn’t.  He truly desires for you to be set free from all your fears.

There are many facets and aspects of fear.  One of the big ones is having fear of what others think of you.  People do things, say things, and even buy things because of the fear that they have of what others think.

Many times people join clubs or organizations because they are afraid that if they don’t, others might think badly of them.

People say things and talk a certain way because they are afraid that they might not say the right thing in front of the right people.

People purchase items because of fear not measuring up to those around them.  And on and on it goes.

You don’t have to live with fear.  Here are 3 simple keys to getting rid of fear. 


  1. First, start by realizing that God truly loves you and that His love for you is unconditional. The Bible teaches that nothing can separate you from His love. Nothing.  His love for you does not change, ever!
  2. Second, ask God to help you to get rid of all your fears.  He has promised to deliver you from all your fears.  That is His desire for you – a life without fear.
  3. Third, make decisions based on what is best for you, not how it may or may not appear to others.  You’ll never, ever be able to please everyone, so stop trying to.  You’ll never, ever be right in everybody’s eyes, so stop trying to.  

When you make a decision, ask yourself, “Why am I making this decision?  Is it based on fear?” Make decisions based on what is right and best for your life, regardless of what others think.

You can live without fear.

5 Ways To Maximize Your Personal Energy Supply

Different governments, officials, environmental agencies exhort us to conserve the energy we use in order to save the environment and sustain our continued existence on the planet.

On a personal level I think that we also need to know how to conserve, focus and maximize our own personal supply of energy. We unconsciously dissipate and waste our energy on people, situations, thoughts, attitudes and events which do not serve us well. This leaves less space and energy for creating and attracting the kind of abundance that we want in our lives.

Interestingly enough I've also found that as I conserve, focus and thereby maximize my energy, I tend to use less energy on craving and acquiring "stuff", but more energy focusing on what is truly important to me, thereby helping the environment.








So here are 5 Ways to Maximize Your Personal Energy Supply.

1. Release Resistance

Releasing resistance will affect a profound change in your level of energy and how you view the world. Resistance often feels as though we are going against ourselves in order to satisfy some internal authority or a myriad of "shoulds" "oughts" and "have tos". It takes a tremendous amount of energy to be resistant.

Related feelings and behaviour include: procrastination, using willpower and discipline to effect change (otherwise known as "I Have To Struggle To Achieve What I Want"!), stubborness, inflexibility, wanting to be right rather than happy (a very popular one:), holding onto self limiting beliefs way past their sell by date.

Releasing resistance can be as easy as just making a decision to let go of whatever you are holding onto. Energy therapy also helps release resistance at a very deep level.

2. Reduce time watching TV

Watching TV unconsciously is very exhausting. Haven't you noticed that when you watch TV continuously and do little else, you become extremely tired? That's because you are merely a passive recipient of information that you're not fully engaged with. On an energetic level, taking in all of those rays from the TV (similar to a computer) is overstimulating on a physiological level. Of course while you are watch TV, it means that you're not doing something more productive.

Am I saying that you stop watching TV altogether? No, but to be more selective and watch only those programs that you are engaged with. I'd also say that stop watching the TV news - all of that manufactured fear really affects you on a cellular level. I find that my mindset, moods and overall energy improve significantly when I watch less TV.

 3. Consciously create vacuums

Ever heard of the saying: "Nature abhors a vacuum". If you clean out an area of your life, you are giving the Universe a message to bring in something to replace it. This is otherwise known as energetic and/or physical clutter clearing. Start with either. Most people find it easier to start with clearing out the physical which has an effect on their energies. You are consciously creating the space for change to occur and inviting what you want into your life. This is much much easier than efforting to make things happen.

4. Avoid/deal with Energy Vampires

One of the quickest ways to get an energy boost is to disassociate yourself from those with those whose energy drains you. It is very effective. Unfortunately, it also becomes a little more difficult if they are your partner, member of your family, work colleagues or boss. It helps to develop a stronger set of boundaries and energetic protection, so that they are less likely to affect you in this way.

5. Create quiet time for yourself every day.

Not to do anything (unless it relaxes you), but just to clear and refresh your mind. We are human beings, not doings. There are times when our crowded schedule and minds don't allow space and time for the creative to be welcomed in. Einstein liked to go sailing in the afternoons after working in the morning. Okay, most of us don't have this opportunity, but you get the point.


If you only do one of the above, then your life will undergo a profound change.

Personal Mastery Principles

There are people who fully understand how important it is to develop their skill and know their strengths and weaknesses to be able to deal with their growth and development. 

Those who have known and developed personal mastery would be able to listen to themselves and maintain balance in their life. 

Personal mastery would also enable people to manage their energy levels and minimize dependence with stimulants to increase their energy levels.  To attain personal mastery, there are principles that would be the guide of a person in a quest for growth and maturity.  

Principles behind personal and self mastery are actually fundamental concepts that are essential when building professional, social and spiritual relationships.  The first one is how success is defined.  In personal mastery, the internal change is actually more important than what had happened to you.  

Personal mastery is also based on reality.  It is important for the follower to spend time and energy in things that can be controlled, like the present and the future.  It is important to let go of reactive attitude like resentment, complaint, blame and just wishful thinking.  

Another principle behind self mastery is understanding that what happens to your life is based on your own choices and not from anybody else.  We should take responsibility for what had happened in our life. Therefore, decisions about our lives should be made by our own will.  We have to know the weaknesses and strengths of our character.  This would enable us to change how we think, feel and behave. 

Having a clear vision of what we want and what we should do to achieve it are also principles behind personal mastery.  After identifying our goals and how we can attain our goals, then it is about time to translate them into action.  This would be the application of our vision, values and principles that we chose to follow. 

These key principles would help the followers:
• How to deal with difficult and challenging situations.
• Isolate positive behaviours and feelings and work on them.
• Accept difficult and harsh realities of life.
• Understand the importance and freedom that comes with responsibility.
• Identify your principles in life.
• Prioritize what is more important to you.
• Deepen your commitment
• Develop self-confidence and self-esteem
• Accept imperfection and build on one’s strength. 
• Feel the connection between oneself to others.
• Develop an inquisitive mind
• Adapt and work with change

Overall, an individual who have attained personal mastery would be able to raise self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-responsibility.  What it great about personal mastery is that individuals would recognize that they are part of a system.  They know that they would be able to contribute and influence through their creative ideas although they would also be conscious that controlling the situation or the system is impossible. 

Personal mastery is something that does not happen as an accident not overnight.  It would require discipline and reinforcements.  Those who are in the path or personal mastery would oftentimes attend trainings, seminars, coaching and counselling to make sure that what they have learned in personal mastery is not at lost again in the midst of selfishness and materialism.  

Personal mastery helps everybody understand that life is full of opportunities for expanding our vision and skills, until later on we succeed.

Changing Habits That Are Deeply Ingrained in the Subconscious

Ever trying changing a habit so desperately only to find out that something deep within is not willing?

You have gone to counselors, the psychologists, spent money on self books and running to every sort of seminar that includes the self help stuff only to find yourself at the same position you were in before? It is said that it is at this moment when the subconscious and the conscious are at logger heads and in most cases the subconscious wins.

Our habits drive our lives, that is why it is important to bring the bad habits into our conscious awareness and replace them with the obstruct ones to be able to move forward. If you are not yet where you want to be or if you have not yet achieved what you have always desired for a long time then you ought to really examine your approaches to life.


I suggest you prepare a list of how you perceive things around you or your attitude toward life. Of course you will have those that do not serve you well and you don’t have to beat yourself down because of it, after all you are human. All you have to do is eliminate them completely and replace them with their opposite ones. Say you think that you are looser and you cannot achieve anything in life or that life is way too hard whatever your perception is, your subconscious takes it in and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

So instead of saying that, think of the past achievements or think of how much you can achieve and conquer a lot and how easy life can get if only you apply the right skills. You may not believe it but I advise that you keep doing it, fake it till you make it. Keep repeating those words to yourself as much as possible and no matter how long it takes, you will enjoy its aftermath.


This exercise requires some time, full time dedication and a burning desire to really do it and achieve your goals otherwise if you easily give up you will not go far. You should set time for some deep analysis of your habits and do more of meditation to help relax your mind. Keep the positive attributes coming until it becomes your new approach to life. Your mind will have a new command to steer you directly into your dreams.

Don't Forget To Dream

Sometimes we know that something has to change in our lives. That need often gives birth to a dream. The problem is we often succumb to the fear of the unknown and turn our backs on the doors that are opening to us.


Life was different back in the 1800's. Charles Tiffany was 15 when he completed his formal education and went to work managing a general store for his father who owned a Connecticut cotton mill. He worked long, hard hours - learning new things every day. At 25 he still had nothing to call his own - and very little money.




Let Necessity Breed Action

It was time to change his life - time to create his own success.  I can imagine the conversation he had with his friend, and new partner, John Young.

"We're going to New York!"

"To do what?"  John asked warily.

"We're going to open our very own stationery & notions store on Broadway!"

By now John was looking at him like he'd lost his mind, "With what money?"

"I've talked my father into loaning us $1000."

"$1000! That's all? How are we supposed to start a new business and have money to live on with just $1000?"

Charles had the perfect answer. "It's either that or be stuck here for the rest of our lives."

The two young men went to New York - It was 1837.


Enlarge Your Expectations

The first three days of business in their new store on Broadway were not promising. Tiffany & Young raked in a dismal $4.38 in sales. No matter. With their sights set on success, the young men worked hard to provide products people wanted. Within two years they were selling glassware, cutlery, porcelain, clocks and jewelry.

They had also learned a tremendous amount. They knew to search for every opportunity. They knew to take advantage of ways to expand their business. They knew each year would bring new challenges and opportunities. But Charles still had no idea what they would become.


Look For Ways to Expand


In 1841 they added a new partner - someone to travel abroad to increase their purchasing power.

Six years later they recognized a growing market for quality gold jewelry and began to
manufacture their own.

Just one year later, in 1847, Europe was rocked by disturbances. One of the results was diamonds declining 50% in Paris. They took advantage of the situation to purchase huge amounts - gaining enormous profits back in America.

All the while they were moving into bigger and better storefronts. In 1867 they moved into the famous store still on Broadway - Tiffany's.

The young man who left Connecticut to open a stationery store became the owner of a $2 Million dollar business (the equivalent of a multi-billion dollar business today) that was acknowledged as the greatest jewelry company in North America.


Room To Grow

Sometimes your original dream may be just a shadow of its true potential. Tiffany never dreamed of creating the greatest jewelry company in North America. He simply moved toward every opportunity - keeping his mind and heart open to every possibility.


Follow your dream. Take the steps to bring it to reality. But don't let your own ability to
dream limit you. Give the dream room to grow. Give it every opportunity to become more. Take advantage of your lessons learned and continue to forge ahead.

The Liberating Effect of Being Grateful

Do you find your life seems to be a constant whirl of activity where you don’t have time to sit for a minute and just contemplate the good things you have in your world?

Society today seems to have created a cycle for most of us that necessitates a constant rush from activity to activity with little or no time to be still and appreciate the good things in our lives.

Many of us need to stop and take stock of what we have, rather than what we don’t have, in order to stop this endless cycle that will eventually burn out or some other physical reaction. Learning to be grateful for the things we have rather than continuously seeking the things we don’t have, unleashes the power of optimism in our lives.

Gratitude is a powerful characteristic to develop. As we focus on gratitude for the blessings that are ours today, we stop taking them for granted.

Cicero once wrote, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of all virtues, it is the parent of them.” 

The attitude of never having enough and never being grateful is such a negative attitude; others don’t want to be around it. Yet the opposite is true for the person who radiates gratitude. They usually attract more reasons to be grateful and find more reasons to be grateful.

This attitude permeates every part of their life and is the drive that compels them to undertake the activities scheduled for the day. People who learn to be genuinely grateful for what they already have, creating a reduction in the need to be constantly seeking more. They feel genuine appreciation for  other’s efforts and contributions and have energy left over to reach out to others from the perspective of being appreciative for what they themselves already have.


We all know people like this. History has recorded many famous names of people who have learned this important life lesson. We can transform the way we approach our life by developing this characteristic.

Writing down each day at least three things to be grateful for, is a great way to cultivate this attitude and  taking  time during the day to express our gratitude to friends, family, God  or the world, is a great way to learn to live in an attitude of gratitude even when we are faced with a hectic schedule.

5 Quick Stress Busters

How do you react when your plans fall through?  Do you roll with the punches? 
Or does anxiety keep you from enjoying life? 

To a great extent, our personality determines how we deal with stress in our lives, but here are 5 things to help keep your stress under control:

 
1.            Sleep more.  It’s very common in our society to exist on less than 6 hours of sleep a night.  But experts keep telling us we need at least 8 hours.  Not just to rest our bodies, but to rejuvenate our minds.  “Tired” and “cranky” seem to go hand in hand.  Don’t use your bedroom to watch the news or finish up some work from the office.  Make that room your haven, a place to relax and escape the day.  Have a hot cup of tea, take a warm bath, or read a paperback to help you unwind.

2.            Have faith.  Saying a short prayer in times of stress can give you a sense of calm, especially when the situation is one you really have no control over.  Studies have shown that people who trust in a higher power have lower blood pressure.  Being able to forgive people also can affect your blood pressure.  Holding a grudge is not good for your health!


3.            Turn it off.  The convenience that cell phones have added to our lives can actually be a double-edged sword.  We depend on them so much it seems we can’t live without them.  This increased accessibility means not only can our loved ones reach us at any time, but so can work.  If your employer legitimately needs to have your cell phone number, make sure you set clear limits on when you can and cannot be reached.  Your time off is yours.

4.            Take a holiday.  It doesn’t have to be a fancy vacation resort.  A day at the beach, or an afternoon at the park will do.  Just anywhere you can be and not think about the bills, work, or whatever tensions you may have.  It’s important to take time for yourself, so do it!  You’ll feel better with a fresh outlook.


5.            Treat yourself.  Sign up for a yoga class at your local gym or community center.  The costs are nominal, and you’ll feel more relaxed after even just one session.  A monthly massage or a spa treatment is also a great way to recharge.  You’ll walk out feeling like a million dollar bowl of jelly.

Stress is unavoidable.  But what we do about it is up to us.  Experiment with these suggestions and see what works for you!

3 Steps to Financial Freedom


Attaining financial stability is not as hard as many portray it to be. On the contrary, it is quite easy so long as you follow the necessary steps. There are a total of three steps.

Step number one: Set your own financial goals.

This not only applies to achieving financial freedom but all business sectors. Professionals claim that the main difference between those who succeed in life and those who do not is the simple fact that the previous know exactly what they want in life.

Therefore, they strive to achieve it unlike those that try being jacks of all trades but end up masters of none. The same applies when achieving financial stability. It is important to set goals that you will work towards. This is the only way through which you can access your progress.

Step number two: Learn the art of making money.

Many of you might laugh away this point but if critically analyzed, it means a lot. There are specific strategies or methods that are most efficient when it comes to making money. The most common is the usual 9 to 5 salary job, but this is not enough. Method number two simply involves multiplying your income streams. In this economical hardship time, the average salary is never enough. Therefore, it is wise that you find alternative means of earning money such as the popular internet money-making opportunities. Finally, make sure you invest this money and save some amount for the sake of the future. This is the only way through which your money can grow.

Step number three: Avoid negativity

When it comes to financial freedom, there is a lot of negative talk that is going around with people claiming just how much of a myth it is. I am sure that if you tell one of your close relations that you are trying to achieve financial freedom, the most obvious is a sarcastic laughter or a mare shrug. It is up to you to avoid such negative thoughts from affectingyou. They might end up demoralizing you.


Finally, it is advisable that you first aim at clearing all your major debts. There are two types of debts; good and bad debts. Geoids debts help you grow while bad debts just cost you more. A buy-to-let mortgage is a goods debt since it helps you grow. Car loans or credit cards are bad debt since they end up costing you more without adding any value to your financial situations. The Two Drops of Oil

A certain shopkeeper sent his son to learn about the secret of happiness from the wisest man in the world. The lad wandered through the desert for forty days, and finally came upon a beautiful castle, high atop a mountain. It was there that the wise man lived.


Rather than finding a saintly man though, our hero, on entering the main room of the castle, saw a hive of activity: tradesmen came and went, people were conversing in the corners, a small orchestra was playing soft music, and there was a table covered with platters of the most delicious food in that part of the world. The wise man conversed with everyone, and the boy had to wait for two hours before it was his turn to be given the man’s attention.


The wise man listened attentively to the boy’s explanation of why he had come, but told him that he didn’t have time just then to explain the secret of happiness. He suggested that the boy look around the palace and return in two hours.


“Meanwhile I want to ask you to do something,” said the wise man, handing the boy a teaspoon that held two drops of oil. “As you wander around, carry this spoon with you without allowing the oil to spill.”


The boy began climbing and descending the many stairways of the palace, keeping his eyes fixed on the spoon. After two hours, he returned to the room where the wise man was.


“Well,” asked the wise man, “did you see the Persian tapestries that are hanging in my dining hall? Did you see the garden that it took the master gardener ten years to create? Did you notice the beautiful parchments in my library?”


The boy was embarrassed, and confessed that he had observed nothing. His only concern had been not to spill the oil that the wise man had entrusted to him.


“Then go back and observe the marvels of my world,” said the wise man. “You cannot trust a man if you don’t know his house.”


Relieved, the boy picked up the spoon and returned to his exploration of the palace, this time observing all of the works of art on the ceilings and the walls. He saw the gardens, the mountains all around him, the beauty of the flowers, and the taste with which everything had been selected. Upon returning to the wise man, he related in detail everything he had seen.


“But where are the drops of oil I entrusted to you?” asked the wise man.


Looking down at the spoon he held, the boy saw that the oil was gone.


“Well, there is only one piece of advice I can give you,” said the wisest of wise men.

“The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon.”

Self Discovery – The Key to a Happier Life

The term “Self discovery” means identifying yourself and your needs. 


Even though it may hear a small word, in reality, it has a huge meaning and a huge role in people’s life. You may dream of leading a certain kind of life, but when you enter that kind of life, you do not seem to be happy. This makes self-discovery very important. If you do not discover yourself, and know exactly what you want form life, you always tend to be unhappy.
This is the major reasons why counselors go for self-discovery sessions. However, even without the help of counselors, you can discover yourself if are a little aware of your needs and feelings.

The first step to self-discovery is identification of your needs. Most of the people do not know what they want. They keep on searching for one thing and when they achieve that thing, they still are unhappy. To identify your needs, you first need to sit in a quiet place and relax yourself.

Then, when you are in a relaxed state of mind, meditate and focus on your thoughts. Ask yourself questions like what makes you happy, what makes you sad and so on. Along with the question of what, also ask why it makes you happy or sad. Seek a deep and strong reason behind it, not any fragile reason.

After you have the answer to all your questions, write them down in a piece of paper in a tabular form so that whenever you see it, you can understand it. This finishes the identification session. This is the most important part of the session of self-discovery.

Next, you have to prioritize your needs that you have identified from the first step. You may have several reasons that make you happy, but it is not possible to implement them altogether. Therefore, you have to prioritize them into first, second, third and so on.

This will make everything systematic and you can get all the happy things done one by one. Since you have also noted the things that make you sad, therefore, you can stay away from those things. There will be no confusions anymore if they are well written in paper as well as well engraved in your mind.

Next is executing these happy moments into actions. Thus, you discover yourself and lead a happier life if you are a well-disciplined and good follower of instructions.

The Frogs And The Tower



There once was a bunch of tiny frogs...

... who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...

The race began...

                                   

Honestly, no-one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"

"They will NEVER make it to the top".

"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...

... Except for those who in a fresh tempo were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to yell

"It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...

...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...

This one wouldn't give up!

At the end, everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how the one who succeeded had found the strength to reach the goal?

It turned out...

That the winner was deaf.

How to Improve Your Memory

There are many ways in which you can improve your memory and the more you work at it, the better it becomes!
Memory is the mechanism by which we are able to store, retain, and recall information. As simple as it may sound, the process is a complex one which involves many different parts of the brain and serves us in a wide variety of ways.improve your memory
As with so many of our other functions, the saying "use it or lose it" applies as aptly to the brain, as with anything else. The more you exercise your brain and nurture it with a good diet and healthy habits, the better you'll be able to process and remember information.

Before we get into how to improve your memory, it would be helpful to understand how it works.  
For example here are parts of the brain used for memory:
  • The hippocampus is the primitive structure deep in the brain that plays the single largest role in processing information as memory.
  • The amygdala is an almond-shaped area near the hippocampus, which processes emotion and helps imprint memories that involve emotion. 
  • he cerebral cortex (the outer layer of the brain), depending on what kind of processing the information involves, such as language, sensory input or problem-solving, stores most long-term memory in its different zones.
Memory also entails communication among the brain's network of neuronsneurons, which are the millions of cells activated by brain chemicals called neurotransmitters.

Memory can be short-term or long-term. In short-term memory, your brain stores information for a few seconds or a few minutes. It is capable of holding, on average, about seven items at a time.

Long-term memory involves the type of information that requires a conscious effort to retain, and then recall. This would include studying for tests, factual data, or personal events; such as the first time you were able to ride a bike, or recalling your favorite movie. Another type of long-term memory is procedural memory, which involves skills and routines that you perform so frequently that they don't require conscious recall.

Tips on how to Improve Your Memory


1. Exercise your brain. The best way to exercise your brain is to engage in new experiences or expose it to varied sensory stimulation. When you break with routine or do something that is challenging, you create new brain pathways. An illustration of this would be writing, or dribbling a basketball with your non-dominant hand, or taking a totally different route to work. An example of sensory stimulation, would be smelling a particular fragrance while listening to a certain piece of music. To stir up brain activity in yet a different way, you can pick something usually done by rote, or on automatic pilot, and consciously change the way you go about it.


It is also a well know fact that people who engage in activities that exercise the brain, such as reading, writing, and playing card games, can delay the rapid memory decline that occurs as we age.

2. Pay attention. It is very difficult to remember something if you've never learned it in the first place. It takes about eight seconds of intent focus to process a piece of information through the hippocampus and direct it to the proper memory center. If you do not concentrate, get distracted easily, or are doing several things at once, your chances of retrieving specific information will be non-existent.

3. Incorporate as many senses as possible. While there are many different learning styles, such as visual, auditory and kinesthetic (touch), no matter which type you are, you can incorporate all of them in the process of trying to remember something. If you're a visual learner you can read out loud, even recite rhythmically to remember better. If you're an auditory learner, create a mental image or look at pictures as you read out loud. Relating information to colors, textures, smells and tastes is also very helpful.

4. Organize Information.  A good way to remember new things is to make associations and connect information to what you already know. Building on what you know helps you remember new material. Also, write important things down in notebooks, calendars and post-it notes, then reorganize the information in a comprehensive way in order to retain it.

5. Review frequently and over-learn. Go over what you've learned the same day you learned it, and review it frequently. When you review and over-learn information, it becomes embedded in your memory and therefore, so much easier to recall. It is also much more effective than trying to cram.

6. Use Mnemonics. Mnemonics are a memory tool or technique used for remembering difficult information. They are clues of any kind that help us remember something, usually by associating it with a visual image, a sentence, or a word. For example, "30 days hath September, April, June and November" is a rhyme for remembering the number of days in each calendar month. Another example of mnemonics would be to "chunk" information. Chunking is when you arrange a long list into smaller units or categories that are easier to remember. To remember a long number, you could chunk it into groups of 2, 3 or 4 for easier retention. You can also code and structure information by using vivid mental images. When you make the images colorful or even unusual, they are much easier to recall when you need them.

7. Practice good health habits. Exercise regularly. It increases oxygen to your brain and reduces the risk for disorders, such as diabetes and heart disease.  Poor health, of any kind, contributes to memory loss. Likewise, get plenty of sleep and eat properly. Sleep is necessary for concentration and clear thinking, while good eating habits supply the nutrients needed to nourish your brain.

8. Stay motivated and maintain a positive attitude.When you are positive about learning and experiencing new things, you automatically improve your memory. On the other hand, if you tell yourself you have a bad memory, you will actually impede your brain's ability to remember. Maintaining a positive attitude sets up expectation of success.

By incorporating the above tips and strategies into your routine, you will be able improve your memory significantly. Not only will you learn and retain more in school and at work, you will achieve more satisfaction in your personal and business relationships.

The Mouse Trap



A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said "Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said "I am so very sorry, Mr.Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house - like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many! people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember: when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another. Each of us is a vital thread in another person's tapestry.
